Flu shots, Hemoglobin A1C tests, free health care screenings and prize opportunities will be available at the WVU Healthy Living Fair at the Mountainlair on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.– 2 p.m.

Healthcare practitioners and professional students from the schools and departments of pharmacy, audiology, speech and language pathology, music therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy will be available at various stations to offer screenings and answer health-related questions.

Flu shots are also available. Eligible participants can bill Medicare, Medicaid and PEIA for a $0 co-pay with their flu shot. Individuals without insurance can be vaccinated for $25.

“Healthy living fairs encourage lifestyle changes. Instead of spending days at doctor offices, community members are able to visit multiple specialists in a single day,” Amy Summers, program specialist for the WVU Office of Interprofessional Education, said.

The fair includes over 10 stations and is free to the public. For more information about another upcoming fair in Kingwood visit hsc.wvu.edu/interprofessional-education/current-activities/.
