Dear alumni, friends and colleagues,
As you know, our beloved School of Pharmacy faculty, Dr. Art Jacknowitz, passed away last month following a noble battle with cancer. We have been working with Art’s wife, Linda, to put together a service at the Health Sciences Center to celebrate Art’s life and influence on so many of us. Of course, all of you are welcome to attend such. The date chosen was Friday, June 7th starting at 2:00 p.m. which purposefully coincides with our annual School of Pharmacy Alumni dinner later that evening (see announcement below.)
Given the number of inquiries we received during his illness, we have chosen a format to hopefully represent as big a swatch of his life with the School as is feasible, yet keep the ceremony to a reasonable duration. I am sure many of us would like to get up and describe his influence on our careers and life, so we worked with Linda to identify 4 alumni who will represent the four decades he taught. We hope you will submit a story, note, and/or pictures to your representative alumni or HSC faculty using the links below by May 31st, even if you are able to attend the ceremony. We will consolidate all the replies for Linda to see at a later date.
