Feb. 15 and Feb. 22, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
A collaborative group across WVU is planning to bring the program “A Long Talk About the Uncomfortable Truth” to WVU’s campus. A Long Talk About The Uncomfortable Truth is an anti-racism activation experience.
Participants who self identify to engage in this experience agree to the completion of pre work before entering into the group discussion. This pre-work is a multimedia collection of content reflecting the truth about the history of racism in the United States and the impact it continues to have on our society today. Completion of the pre-work serves to provide a common foundational understanding of the issue. The “long talk” begins with a two day virtual conference call. Each call lasts 2 hours both days. The calls are orchestrated as reflective conversations, where participants are asked to listen, view, and respond in real time. The conversations take place in large and small group settings using the breakout rooms feature.

This session will take place Feb. 15 and Feb. 22, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
We want those who are interested to have access to knowledge that helps create a strong anti-racism community on the campus by doing this meaningful work. We want to encourage people to take action and not just talk about taking action. Therefore, it is important to have tools you can use to reach all the spaces you can influence. This experience will help with learning and working on those resources.
