Mindful Morsels is back for 2018. Mindful Eating will be held January 16, 2017, at 11:00 am in John Jones C.
Begin 2018 with more skills to eat well and with more pleasure. Our food intake is our primary contact with our environment. Many of us eat because of the environmental cues and not because we are hungry. There are ample pleasures associated with our food intake. However, we often eat mindlessly while working on our computer, reading the newspaper, watching television, or driving. We finish our meals without appreciation, awareness, satiety, or satisfaction. This session is an opportunity to bring more pleasure and control into our daily lives. Often, it is not what we are eating that is making us overweight and contributing to disease but rather what is eating us. Mindfulness can ground us in the present moment. Mindful Eating may be the most important step we make in 2018 to an increased quality of life.
Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch, which will be incorporated into the session.
