The Pharmaceutical Sciences Search Committee was tasked to find a new faculty candidate for Dr. Wei Du's position. The position was for a junior faculty member with promise in both teaching in the pharmacy program and establishing a vibrant research program. A research focus on pharmaceutics and formulation studies was highly valued. Two candidates were interviewed in January of 2021, and the committee has made recommendations to the School of Pharmacy leadership team for the next steps in the recruitment process.
For the Developmental Therapeutic Division, Dr. Lori Hazelhurst was asked to be chair-elect of the ASPET cancer pharmacology section in 2020. Dr. Mohammed Nayeem chaired a Cardiology session of the International Conference of Winter Eicosanoids 2020. He also served on an NHLBI/NIH study section in 2020.
