Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun will be joining the PSP department as an Assistant Professor in April.
Dr. Al-Mamun is a health data scientist specializing in the areas of health outcomes, data science and epidemiology. He brings interdisciplinary research experience on building mathematical modeling and data science tools such as predictive models and machine learning to understand disease dynamics at individual and population levels. His research provides cutting-edge methods and tools to interpret and address the research questions related to health outcomes, big data and epidemiological surveillance systems. His current research has expanded to further understand polysubstance use among people who use opioids, medication regimen complexity among ICU patients and spatiotemporal dynamics of vector-borne disease in the USA. He is also interested in developing mathematical and agent-based models, decision support systems, data mining and machine learning in the health outcomes research domain.
