MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Students from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy will be offering a variety of health screenings and information Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Bridge Day at New River Gorge in Fayetteville, West Virginia.
Attendees can receive free blood glucose, blood pressure and A1c tests, as well as free information about diabetes and diabetes management, addiction services and how to become a bone marrow donor.
Students from the WVU Schools of Pharmacy and Dentistry will be discussing tobacco cessation and distributing “quit kit” packets with information about stopping tobacco use.
For those interested, student pharmacists will be available to help answer questions about Medicare Part D and how to sign up for the program.
Children who attend the booth can participate in a healthy food activity and receive a coloring sheet with information about food groups.
