Shrina Duggal, Pharm.D., BCOP, is a clinical pharmacy specialist and provides clinical services to the medical staff and patients who are receiving treatment at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. These services include, but are not limited to, monitoring for and preventing drug interactions and adverse events, reviewing chemotherapy orders for clarity and appropriateness, monitoring drug dosing and providing recommendations for dosing based on renal or hepatic function, monitoring therapeutic drug levels and providing dosing recommendations based on those levels, recommending appropriate therapeutic approaches based on patient diagnosis, and providing basic drug information to other healthcare professionals as well as patients and their caregivers. In addition, Dr. Duggal is adjunct faculty at University of Pittsburgh and also guest lectures at Duquesne University along with precepting WVU students on APPE rotations. She earned her board certification in oncology pharmacy in 2009. Dr. Duggal has been working as a clinical pharmacy specialist in Pittsburgh since 2007. She has acquired extensive experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings treating patients with hematological malignancies and solid tumors through her service at UPMC’s Hillman Cancer Center. Dr. Duggal received her Pharm.D. from the WVU School of Pharmacy in 2005 and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY2 residency in hematology/oncology/SCT at UPMC thereafter.
